Royal Wedding: Kensington Palace announcement for Windsor preparation for the event in May | Life | Life & Style

The royal wedding is just weeks away with it due to take place at Windsor Castle on May 19.

The marriage of Prince Harry, 33 to Meghan Markle, 36, is anticipated to be one of the biggest events of the year.

A number of announcements have already been made regarding who is to make the cake, the flowers and most recently the royal photographer.

Kensington Palace and the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead have recently announced that preparations and decorations are well underway for the wedding.

Fans wanting to experience the day for themselves can make sure to be ready to celebrate.

Kensington Palace tweeted earlier today: “Windsor is getting ready to welcome the world to The Royal Wedding on May 19th with bunting, large screens and refreshments across the town.”

They also retweeted a number of messages from the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead ahead of the day with key information for both fans and locals.

They tweeted: “Work is well underway to welcome the #RoyalWedding to Windsor.”

They confirmed that there would be large screens to watch the event on both the Long Walk and on Alexandra Gardens.

A number of viewing areas and decorations can also be expected, along with live entertainment from local groups from the area.

The account also confirmed that there would be “food and facilities on the Long Walk,” along with 140 Royal Borough ambassadors assisting on the day.

People travelling to the city can either use the 6,000 pre-book car parking spaces at the Review Ground or take advantage of the extra trains being put on.

Accommodation is quickly booking up but people are advised to contact windsor.accommodation@rbwm.gov.uk for spaces still left.

Locals who might be affected can join the Q&A on April 19 or May 3 to discuss information and updates for the big day.

Who will be making Meghan’s wedding dress? The designer is still under wraps although Victoria Beckham, who is attending with her husband David Beckham, has denied she is involved.

The royal photographer was recently announced, with Alexi Lubomirski, the man behind the engagement photographs being the man for the job.

For their wedding cake, they have chosen Claire Ptak from Violet Cakes to make an elderflower and lemon cake.

Claire was previously interviewed by Meghan on her now-closed lifestyle blog The Tig.

The florist will be London-based Philippa Craddock, creating floral arrangements of white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves.
