Piers Morgan reacts as Cristiano Ronaldo speaks out on his emotional interview | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Piers Morgan, 54, sat down with Cristiano Ronaldo, 34, in a very revealing interview for an ITV special.

The Juventus footballer was overcome with emotion in their chat, where he broke down in tears as he discussed his late father.

Despite the emotional topics of conversation, Cristiano thanked Piers for their chat.

He shared a picture of the two of them posing together on his Instagram and Twitter pages along with the caption: “Probably one of the most revealing interviews I ever did…! Thanks @piersmorgan for the interview.”

Piers appeared extremely pleased with Cristiano’s praise on his social media accounts and quoted his Instagram boast, where the star boasts 183 million followers.

The Good Morning Britain host replied: “BOOM!”

Piers spoke about Cristiano’s life in the public eye and his ambition to be number one in football, along with chatting about his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez and his four children.

Cristiano insisted it’s “boring” being famous as he said he’s unable to go anywhere and hasn’t even been to the park with his children.

“After 10 years, you look at life in a different way, girlfriend, kids, you want some privacy,” he divulged.

“You can’t be yourself, which is boring,” he continued. “It’s too late to change, have to adapt.”

Cristiano was also shown footage of his late father, Jose Dinis Aveiro, in 2004 where he spoke about how proud he was of his son.

He said: “I never saw the video. I never saw that video. Unbelievable.”

Piers asked the former Real Madrid star why he’s sad reflecting on his dad, to which he replied: “To be the number one and he don’t see nothing, and he don’t see to receive awards, to see what I became.”

At the end of the interview, Cristiano admitted he didn’t think he was going to get tearful as he discussed his late father.

“I didn’t expect you to make me cry,” he candidly opened up. “I’ve never cried in an interview I don’t think. I’m a little embarrassed.”

Piers added: “You should be proud.”

“I never saw that video, so it surprised me,” the footballer replied, to which Piers said back: “It was a human reaction.”

During the airing of the episode, Piers tweeted to his 6.8 million followers: “I’ve never seen such an extraordinary outpouring of incredible positivity for any interviewee than I’m seeing right now for @Cristiano.

“Viewers LOVE him.”
