Piers Morgan, 54, was less than impressed with Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn’s absence from the ITV Election Debate tonight. The Good Morning Britain host fumed about their failure to turn up to the debate just 10 days before the general election is set to take place.
Piers spoke out about the surprising situation in view of his 6.9 million Twitter followers and branded both the Labour leader and the Prime Minister “gutless”.
The outspoken journalist also suggested the politicians appear to be “hiding from voters”.
He fumed: “Really pathetic that neither @BorisJohnson nor @jeremycorbyn turned up for tonight’s #itvdebate.
“Ten days before the Election & they’re hiding from voters. Gutless.”

Fans took to the comments section of Piers’ post to share their thoughts about the issue.
One person wrote: “@jeremycorbyn hasn’t been hiding he has been doing plenty, not sure about Boris, anyone seen him?”
Another Twitter user argued: “It is a waste of time! Voters are sick of these so called debates. Boris did Marr today proves my point. The hosts are taking over & want to sit in both chairs.”
A third commented: “The problem is that there are too many of these TV ‘debates’. The important one is on @BBC next Friday with Nick Robinson – the Corbyn-Johnson head to head. The rest is just noise… and tonight pitched against Strictly!”
Piers’ comments about Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn come after he raged at the Prime Minister for appearing on BBC Breakfast for a second time and snubbing his show Good Morning Britain.
Last month, the presenter fumed about the “stitch up” while sharing the announcement about Boris’ interview on the BBC show.
The original tweet read: “A #BBCBreakfast exclusive at 8am. Boris Johnson will join @BBCNaga on the sofa for the first of our in-depth leader interviews. #GE2019.”
Piers then exclaimed in response: “Sorry, WHAT? You’re doing them again before honouring your repeated on-air promises to do us at @GMB, Prime Minister @BorisJohnson? Wow.
