Participants of a mass rally shouted slogans before a banner reading “let us beat down the sanctions of the imperialists with great progress of self reliance on Kim II Sung square in Pyongyang.
The North Korean leader also threatened to tame “Trump with fire” for making comments to the United Nations about destroying the rogue nation.
In a statement released on Friday, Kim Jong-un said: “The mentally deranged behaviour of the US President openly expressing on the UN arena the unethical will to ‘totally destroy’ a sovereign state, beyond the boundary of threats of regime change or overturn of social system, makes even those with normal thinking faculty think about discretion and composure.”
President Trump has labelled Kim “little rocket man” and said North Korea should have been “handled” a long time ago.
He said: “We can’t have mad men out there shooting rockets all over the place. And by the way, rocket man should’ve been handled a long time ago. This shouldn’t be handled now, but I’m going to handle it because we have to handle it.”
This comes as China has unveiled its plan to restrict energy supplied to North Korea in a bid to stop their missile development.
Tensions between North Korea and the US have become increasingly strained as Kim Jong-un has called President Trump “mentally deranged”.
The sanctions have had little impact on North Korea so far with the country’s foreign minister saying his country would continue to launch its nuclear missile tests.
