Laura Tobin and Ben Shephard wipe away tears after emotional Tipping Point Lucky Stars win | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Laura Tobin, 37, put on an impressive performance during tonight’s episode of Tipping Point: Lucky Stars and managed to win the £20,000 jackpot. Host Ben Shephard, 44, ran to his Good Morning Britain co-star to embrace her in a celebratory hug after she secured the huge cash prize. However, the smiles between the pair soon turned to tears when Laura welled up as the presenter comforted her. Ben also seemed to be overcome with emotion in the moment and was spotted wiping a tear from his eye.

Explaining their reaction to the win, Ben said: “£20,000. Look at us,” to which the meteorologist replied: “I can’t believe it, I’m speechless.”

Ben continued: “And there’s a reason we’re crying of course because the £20,000 is going to a very special charity isn’t it?”

Laura added: “It’s going to a very special charity. My daughter Charlotte, who’s beautiful, was born very premature three months early and she was looked after in the Buscot Ward at Reading hospital.

“There’s a charity called BIBS, Babies in Buscot Support, who look after the children, the babies, the families, the relatives and any money for them is fantastic because they’re such a small charity.”

Pointing towards the total on the ITV show, her voice broke as she said: “This will pay for an incubator for a baby.”

The weather presenter then brought her adorable little girl onto the stage.

Reflecting on the episode on Twitter in view of her 116,000 followers, Laura revealed she watched the show with her daughter at home this evening and even shared a snap of the tot gazing at the TV screen.

She wrote: “Beautiful baby Charlotte then & now! She loved watching herself on @TippingPointITV (it was filmed last year).

“She kept pointing at herself & saying ‘mummy’ when she saw me – She clapped when I won!

“I was in tears watching with her. Thanks @benshephard @BabiesinBuscot @GMB.”

Ben also opened up about Laura’s appearance on the gameshow in a tweet shared with his 708,000 followers.

He shared a clip of her winning moment and added: One of the most emotional finishes to @TippingPointITV ever, to be able to celebrate a wonderful jackpot win with a friend who has been through so much was very special.

“The new incubator will save lives like little Charlotte’s was. It doesn’t get much better than that!”

Fans took to the comments section to share their thoughts on the emotional show.

One person replied: “Amazing show and host and wonderful guest Laura, such a worthy cause reduced me to tears too! X.”

Another added: “I’ve never ever seen you cry or ever watched an episode filled with emotion.”

“I’ve cried with you both tonight beautiful story and a fantastic charity,” a third viewer gushed.

Tipping Point: Lucky Stars is now available to watch on the ITV Hub.
