YouTube users and music fans can now access a brand new Google-powered service on their smartphones.
YouTube Music has just been launched by Google with the internet giant boasting the app has been designed to “make the world of music easier to explore and more personalised than ever.”
The new service not only features all the latest music videos but albums and playlists curated especially for the user.
It’s free to use although there’s also a Premium option which adds the ability to listen offline and totally advert free.
Other bonus extras of YouTube Music include a home screen that dynamically adapts to provide recommendations based on what you’ve played before, where you are and what you’re doing.
There’s also the ability to find songs via an advanced search feature which even includes asking questions such as “What about that George Michael song with the models”?
Along with working on your phone, the app has also been optimised to offer a premium experience on Google’s Home smart speaker.
To get the full version of the app there’s a £9.99 per month fee although users can also access many features without paying.
With the launch of this app, YouTube is entering a hugely competitive market which includes Apple Music, Spotify and even Google itself.
These music services are hugely popular with over 85 million music fans already subscribing to and using the apps.
However, Google is confident its new YouTube Music app has unique appeal especially as it offers everything, such as music videos, official albums, singles, remixes, live performances in one place.
This means you can view the latest music on the video platform and download the track straight on your phone without switching apps or services.
Speaking about the app Google said: “YouTube Music is a new music streaming service made for music listening, on top of the magic of YouTube: making the world of music easier to explore and more personalized than ever.
“Whether you want to listen, watch or discover – all the ways music moves you can be found in one place.”
Alongside YouTube Music Google is also launching its new YouTube Premium service.
Starting today, video fans can upgrade to YouTube Premium, providing members with the benefits of Music Premium, plus ad-free, background, and downloads across all of YouTube.
You can also enjoy the full slate of YouTube Originals shows and movies, including the hit series Cobra Kai and Impulse, plus two new shows launching today: F2 Finding Football which follows the F2 as they discover football culture around the world with world-renowned musical guests such as Lil Jon, Becky G and more, and The Sidemen Show which has The Sidemen going on wild adventures with celebrity guests such as Nicole Scherzinger and Bear Grylls.
