Coronation Street: Kym Marsh reveals REAL reason behind move amid prying neighbours claims | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

The soap star, who has played Coronation Street’s Michelle Connor since 2006, was said to have bought a country cottage in order to give her family more privacy.

However, the 41-year-old has rubbished the suggestions made by The Sun in her latest column for OK! Magazine.

Kym said she was keen to settle elsewhere to “start afresh” following her split from her former husband Jamie Lomas.

An insider had told the newspaper last week: “It’s a big move for the both of them. The house is beautiful and most definitely not like living close to a city centre.

“There will be no prying neighbours at the new place which will be a relief for them!”

But, Kym was having none of it and has since commented: “What utter rubbish! I previously had fantastic (and quiet) neighbours.”

The brunette beauty went on: “The reason Matt [Baker] and I moved was because we’d been renting for quite a while and wanted to start afresh in our own place.

“We waited until we found just the right place, which we did before Christmas. I also wanted to be closer to my parents, so we moved a little out of Manchester.”

Kym then added: “We’re in the process of doing it up and we’ve very happy.”

It had previously been stated that the couple had found a £500,000 property 20 miles from the Corrie set in Salford.

It was said to have a long driveway, electric gates and intercom, as well as a huge garden and fish pond.

Kym also spoke about the big decision for the pair, suggesting their two-year relationship was stronger than ever.

“It’s a big commitment to each other. It’s a big deal for us,” the former Hear’Say hitmaker commented.

Kym continued: “We don’t feel like we’ve rushed anything and we’ve taken everything quite slowly really.

“This is the first time Matt has bought a place with a partner. We both feel like buying a home together is the next step – it’s exciting!”

Coronation Street continues tomorrow at 7.30pm on ITV.
