Chris Evans, 53, had a busy morning on Wednesday as he dedicated his show to all things charity. The team were selling tickets for CarFest, in conjunction with BBC’s Children in Need, raising money with TV chef James Martin’s foundation where winners would join him at his home for Christmas dinner, and they handed out over two million pounds to deserving charities from all over the country.
But with all this going on, the humorous radio DJ made a sarcastic dig at his wife, Natasha, who joined him in the studio for the “special” show.
The radio host featured many of the co-founders of the charity festival who joined forces to sell as many tickets as they could, where 25 per cent of the price is donated to children’s charities across the country.
Tequila Tash, as Chris lovingly nicknamed his wife, was prompted to read out texts from listeners who had bought CarFest tickets and wanted to show their appreciation and excitement for the 2020 event.
But when she read out one particular message, Chris couldn’t help himself from taking a sly swipe at his wife after hearing what one listener was going to buy her husband for Christmas.

Natasha read out the text: “’Good morning everyone, CarFest north and south sorted, just need to get my hubby a camper van for Christmas.’”
The whole studio started laughing at the generous idea for a gift.
“And I thought I had the greatest wife in the world,” Chris teased: “What’s her name again?
“CarFest tickets north and south and a campervan for Christmas – maybe she won the euro millions last night,” he giggled as his wife sat inches away.
Listeners know the sarcastic joke was made in jest, as Chris often talks about his family on-air, gushing over how important they are to him.
Yesterday’s show welcomed back last week’s guest ITV chef James Martin, who joined forces with the Virgin Radio team to raise money for his Festive Friday charity auction.
The auction gave listeners the chance to win a Christmas Dinner package with him and other VIP celebrities at his home.
James revealed he would also be involved in the 2020 CarFest event after purchasing infamous rally driver, Colin McRae’s racing car.
By the end of the show, the radio DJ and his team had given out a staggering amount of money to various deserving charities and individuals who had been nominated for their good work.
